After checking out a few things around Cap-aux-Meules we set to explore the north-east end of the islands. A long sand bar joins Île du Cap-aux-Meules with Grosse-Île. On one side the waves were enormous and continuous. On the other side was a quiet lagoon. The wind here and everywhere in the islands for our whole trip was extreme.
The road ended on Île de Grande-Entrée. The harbour was full of out-of-season lobster boats. We could look over to the salt mine in the distance that we had passed on the way.
We returned via a walk to the beach on Île de l'Est. We climbed the hill on Grosse-Île and looked over to the Île Brion. And finished the day on the south east coast of Île du Havre-aux-Maisons.
